Regular cleaning of ventilation ducts responsible for air exchange in facilities is forced more and more often by the growing awareness of end users and the applicable legal regulations
We clean, disinfect and ozone mechanical ventilation ducts in food industry plants, industrial halls, hotels, office buildings, ships, public facilities, hospitals, mass catering establishments and restaurants.
This also applies to the cleaning of grease installation ducts.
We carry out periodic inspections and service of mechanical ventilation.
What are the dangers of a contaminated installation?
Along with the air, organic, microbiological, solid and fat particles get into the installation. Some of them are carried away by the air current and pollute the ventilated rooms, some settle on the internal surfaces of the installation and constitute a source of development and emission of harmful microorganisms and poisonous chemicals. All of this is delivered to people inside the buildings.
Consequently, this leads to the so-called sick building syndrome – SBS (sick building syndrome) manifested by headaches and dizziness, fainting, nausea, signs of fatigue, irritation of the mucous membranes or difficulty breathing.
In the field of fire protection attention should be paid to the increased risk of fire, which may be caused by the pollution, especially in the grease ducts, while in the economic scope it has a negative impact on the ventilation efficiency of the installation and thus higher energy consumption as well as faster wear of the installation components.
How often should the ventilation system be cleaned and serviced?
According to the law in force in EU specified in the standards:
– EN 15239: 2010P Guidelines for the inspection of ventilation systems
– EN 15780: 2011 Cleanliness of ventilation systems
– Journal of Laws of 2010, No. 109, item 719 Ordinance on fire protection of buildings
– OJ of 2012, item 739, Ordinance on specific requirements that they should correspond to the premises and equipment of the entity performing medical activities, the frequency of cleaning depends on:
– the degree of contamination of the system components (visual assessment, microbiological tests of sediments)
– building purpose (warehouse, office, restaurant, hospital)
– intensity of use (time spent by people, time to prepare meals)
Examples of frequency of cleaning air handling units are for storage and technical rooms from 24 to 48 months, for offices, hotels, commercial facilities from 12 to 24 months, for food establishments, restaurants, hospitals, depending on the intensity of use and sanitary rigor, from 1 to 12 months. It should be noted that, for various plant components, these deadlines may be longer, e.g. for lines, terminal devices, or shorter, e.g. for filters and humidifiers.
In addition, the manufacturer’s specific instructions should also be taken into account, which, due to the specificity of the device or the conditions of use, may be more stringent than the general recommendations and result in the loss of warranty if the required cleaning and maintenance procedures are not carried out.
We also perform cleaning and disinfection of newly built installations before their final acceptance by the investor.
How do we provide installation service?
As part of our service, we can provide the following :
– hygienic inspection (visual inspection, direct or by robot)
– measuring the effectiveness of ventilation in rooms
– sampling for microbiological analysis
– cleaning of the installation (dry method with the use of specialized brushes or wet method with chemicals)
– replacement of filters, minor current repairs
– inspection of the installation after cleaning
– disinfection by fogging or ozonation
– inspection and service of the electrical installation that is part of the ventilation system with elements of industrial automation
– preparation of as-built documentation and issue of a certificate
